Xiangli (Nini) Wu

Mandarin (Chinese)

Mathematics (Middle/High School)

Xiangli Wu, also known as Nini, was born and raised in Zongyang County, Tongling City, China. Nini knew she wanted to be a teacher from an early age. Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English, Nini graduated from university and went on to work for 15 years as an English teacher in China. Nini has also long held an affinity for mathematics, developing her skills to the calculus level during high school. During college, she instructed middle school students in a variety of mathematics and completed a course in Mathematics Teaching Methods. After school, in addition to her positions as an English teacher, Nini prepared students for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), a competition that is considered a major gateway to prestigious Chinese colleges. In 2018, Nini moved to the US and began working at Nature's Pathways at 2nd Nature Academy as an early childhood teacher, before joining the Academy as a Mandarin language and middle/high school math teacher. Nini is passionate about her students having fun as they learn. She believes that teaching, in turn, has provided her with the ability to improve her skills and broaden her horizons. Nini has been building and refreshing her math foundation in the areas of algebra, calculus, and geometry, involved in a self-taught mission using standard college texts (Drooyan/Franklin's Elementary Algebra for College Students, and Howard Anton's Calculus). In her spare time, Nini enjoys gardening, listening to music, knitting, and spending time with her family, both here and in China.
